"We are petitioning for a traffic signal that would permit crossing Bayshore Boulevard to gain access to Bayshore Boulevard Linear Park and Davis Islands for other than motor vehicles. This would include pedestrians - school children enroute to school and heeding the call for more physical activity, mothers pushing strollers and baby carriages, bicyclists, joggers, the elderly and others without motor vehicles seeking to do grocery shopping. Placing the pedestian light would permit passage of bicycles, wheelchairs and pedestrians would and enable these people deprived of access and egress to have safe passage.
